Female Entrepreneurship Day at the Georgia State Capitol was more than a ceremony, it was a defining moment for women in leadership, innovation, and business across the state. Hosted in partnership with State Representative Doreen Carter (District 93), Media Girls Network, and Girl Boss Suites, this year’s celebration brought together a powerhouse circle of entrepreneurs, media professionals, lawmakers, and cultural influencers to honor the financial, creative, and social impact women continue to make in Georgia and beyond.
Set inside one of the most influential buildings in the state, the event felt both historic and urgent. With women now starting businesses at faster rates than any other demographic, the timing of the celebration aligned with a national shift—women demanding visibility, opportunities, and resources to build sustainable enterprises.
The ceremony honored a remarkable lineup of trailblazing women whose influence extends far beyond their industries. Among them was WNBA star Te’a Cooper, whose platform of over 2.4 million followers amplifies the visibility of female athletes and entrepreneurs alike. Ty Young, TV Personality, former WNBA Player and basketball coach was also recognized. Terri J. Vaughn was another standout honoree, known for her work on the screen and behind, this veteran actress and producer has inspired generations for over a decade now. Attendees also celebrated media legends Karyn Greer and Portia Bruner, national TV producer Tamra Simmons, and several other high-impact women shaping news, entertainment, sports, culture, and commerce.
Together, these honorees represented the strength of Georgia’s female-driven economy—one built on resilience, creativity, and community.
The event highlighted how essential entrepreneurship has become in today’s climate. With economic shifts, layoffs, and the growing importance of digital influence, women are redefining what business leadership looks like. Conversations throughout the celebration emphasized access: access to funding, access to media platforms, access to mentorship, and access to the rooms where decisions are made.
For Media Girls Network and Girl Boss Suites, the day also served as a reminder of the power of community. Many of the attendees—journalists, creators, founders, and executives—have built their careers by leaning on networks that champion women’s voices. Female Entrepreneurship Day has quickly become a staple moment where those voices are not only heard but elevated.
Media coverage surrounding the event captured the excitement and importance of the celebration, drawing attention to the honorees’ accomplishments and showcasing Georgia as a leader in supporting entrepreneurial women. For sponsors and partners, being aligned with such high-impact women offered unmatched visibility and association with some of the most influential figures in business, sports, media, and entertainment.
As the day concluded, one message echoed through the Capitol: female entrepreneurship is not a trend—it is the future. And Georgia is proudly leading the way.
