Black Luxury on the Green: Inside the Peach City Women’s Open with Media Girls Network
Sapphire Golf Tour is creating space for Black and Latina women in professional golf and Media Girls Network received the VIP experience to see it firsthand.
There’s something powerful about seeing Black and Latina women not simply participating in spaces where they’ve historically been underrepresented, but competing, thriving and taking center stage.
Golf, good vibes, networking and Black excellence? Say less.
Media Girls Network recently received the VIP treatment at the Peach City Women’s Open, hosted by Sapphire Golf Tour at Eagles Landing Country Club, where we had the opportunity to cover the tournament while also experiencing the excitement as spectators.
The tournament brought together an impressive lineup of professional women golfers, with a special emphasis on increasing visibility for Black and Latina women in golf.
For the Media Girls, seeing so many talented women of color commanding the green was one of the most inspiring parts of the experience.
Black Excellence Meets the Country Club
There was something special about looking around Eagles Landing Country Club and seeing us.
Black women. Black professionals. Divine Nine members. Media professionals. Golf enthusiasts. Entrepreneurs. And, of course, incredibly talented golfers.
It was Black luxury on the green and we loved every minute of it.
We networked, vibed, enjoyed the tournament and connected with women we may have never crossed paths with outside of an experience like this. And because we’re Media Girls, we couldn't leave without creating a little content.
Between rounds of golf and conversations, the girls jumped into a few trending TikToks, capturing the energy of the day while helping introduce even more people to Sapphire Golf Tour.
Representation on the Green Matters
The fun was memorable, but the mission behind the tournament deserves even more attention.
Women of color pursuing professional golf put countless hours into perfecting their craft, traveling, competing and building their careers. They deserve audiences cheering for them, media telling their stories, brands investing in them and communities showing up for them.
The Peach City Women’s Open gave golfers across generations an opportunity to compete while allowing spectators to discover women who could very well become some of the next major names in the sport.
At the end of the competition, Georgia Oboh walked away with the Peach City Women’s Open trophy, closing out an incredible showcase of women’s golf.

Media Girls Network came to cover golf and walked away inspired.
We saw representation. We made connections. We created content. We celebrated women. And yes—we enjoyed a little country-club luxury while doing it.
Most importantly, we were reminded that Black women belong wherever excellence lives.
On the course. In the clubhouse. Behind the camera. In front of it. And absolutely on the winner’s podium.
The Peach City Women’s Open was more than a tournament—it was another glimpse at what happens when talented women are given the platform, visibility and community they deserve.
